George Lence, President, spent six years at NYC & Company as Chief Operating Officer
& General Counsel. He managed all day-to-day operational, legal, and government relations
aspects of NYC & Company. George has more than 25 years of experience working with
government, community, corporate and civic leaders at the state and local levels on a wide
variety of policy issues, having also served as chief lobbyist for New York’s premier business
group, the Partnership for New York City, as a lobbyist for Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, and
as Chief Counsel to Senator Roy M. Goodman and the Senate Taxation and Arts & Cultural
Affairs Committees. George serves as President of Government Affairs Professionals, an
organization of private and public sector lobbyists in the New York area, and is a Vice President
of the Broadway Association. He received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of
Michigan and his J.D. degree from St. John’s University School of Law.
