George Lence

George Lence, President, spent six years at NYC & Company as Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel. He managed all day-to-day operational, legal, and government relations aspects of NYC & Company. George has more than 25 years of experience working with government, community, corporate and civic leaders at the state and local levels on a wide variety of policy issues, having also served as chief lobbyist for New York’s premier business group, the Partnership for New York City, as a lobbyist for Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, and as Chief Counsel to Senator Roy M. Goodman and the Senate Taxation and Arts & Cultural Affairs Committees. George serves as President of Government Affairs Professionals, an organization of private and public sector lobbyists in the New York area. He received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan and his J.D. degree from St. John’s University School of Law.
