There's nothing unusual about a little morning exercise, unless you're homeless and living at a shelter.

 

They are participating in Back On My Feet. Anne Mahlum launched the program in Philadelphia after she invited some homeless men at a shelter along her jogging route to join her. That was 5 years ago.

Since then, the program's grown to 9 cities, with New York City joining in April.

The organization does not provide food or shelter, but instead provides a community that embraces equality, respect, discipline, teamwork and leadership. The program claims to have helped about half of its homeless runners move from dependency to an independent lifestyle.
